Are you suffering from ‘Text neck”
So many of our patients come in suffering from this condition and it doesn’t have to be just a phone- reading, computer use and kids playing on gaming devices can all give a similar condition.
What is text neck syndrome?
”Text neck” is the term used to describe neck pain and damage sustained from looking down at your phone, tablet, or other devices too frequently and for too long.
Text neck most commonly causes neck pain and soreness. In addition, looking down at your phone too much each day can lead to upper back pain and shoulder pain/tightness. If a nerve in your neck becomes pinched, pain and possibly neurological symptoms can result.
Try holding your phone as close to eye level as possible and take frequent breaks (even set a timer if you are engrossed in work).
